Simple Future: Same Endings, New Irregulars
The simple future endings are identical for all verb groups:

For regular -ER verbs, the full infinitive serves as the stem — exactly as with -AR verbs:
creer → creeré — creerás — creerá — creeremos — creerán leer → leeré — leerás — leerá — leeremos — leerán comprender → comprenderé — comprenderás — comprenderá — comprenderemos — comprenderán responder → responderé — responderás — responderá — responderemos — responderán obedecer → obedecerá (él) etc. — regular
Irregular Simple Future Stems
The major irregular -ER verbs have modified stems in the simple future. These do not add or remove syllables from the infinitive — instead, they modify a vowel or drop a syllable.

Pattern recognition: Most of these stems belong to one of two types:
- Drop the vowel of the infinitive ending and add -r: poder → podr-, saber → sabr-, querer → querr-
- Insert a d between the stem and the r: tener → tendr-, poner → pondr-
- hacer is its own case: har- (the entire -cer is dropped and only ha- + r remains)
These same irregular stems apply to all compounds of the root verb: obtener → obtendré, proponer → pondré → propondré, deshacer → desharé.
Full Conjugation: Irregular Simple Futures
tener → tendr-
tendré — tendrás — tendrá — tendremos — tendrán
Tendremos vida eterna con Dios. — We will have eternal life with God. Un día, no tendremos más tristeza ni dolor. — One day, we will no longer have sadness or pain. ¿Tendrás tiempo para visitar esa comunidad? — Will you have time to visit that community?
hacer → har-
haré — harás — hará — haremos — harán
Dios hará grandes cosas en esta generación. — God will do great things in this generation. Haré todo lo que Él me pide. — I will do everything he asks of me. ¿Qué haremos sin la gracia de Dios? — What will we do without God’s grace? Lo harán con o sin nuestra ayuda. — They will do it with or without our help.
The declaration Él lo hará: — He will do it. A faith declaration that appears frequently in prayer and preaching. Él lo hará must be automatic.

Nada podrá separarnos del amor de Dios. — Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God. Podremos hacer todo en Cristo. — We will be able to do all things through Christ. Si confías en Dios, podrás superar cualquier obstáculo. — If you trust God, you will be able to overcome any obstacle.

Cuando lleguemos al cielo, sabremos todo como somos conocidos. — When we arrive in heaven, we will know all things as we are known. Pronto sabrán la verdad. — Soon they will know the truth. ¿Sabrá el misionero cómo responder a esa pregunta? — Will the missionary know how to respond to that question?
querer → querr-
querré — querrás — querrá — querremos — querrán
Cristo querrá que sus siervos sean fieles. — Christ will want his servants to be faithful. Algunos querrán escuchar el evangelio. — Some will want to hear the gospel. ¿Querrán volver el próximo año? — Will they want to return next year?
poner → pondr-
pondré — pondrás — pondrá — pondremos — pondrán
Dios pondrá su ley en nuestros corazones. — God will place his law in our hearts. Pondré mi fe en las promesas de Dios. — I will place my faith in God’s promises. ¿Dónde pondremos las Biblias? — Where will we put the Bibles?
Regular -ER Simple Future: Ministry Sentences
creer: Creerán cuando vean la obra de Dios. — They will believe when they see God’s work. Siempre creeré en las promesas del Señor. — I will always believe in the Lord’s promises.
leer: Leerán el evangelio en su propio idioma por primera vez. — They will read the gospel in their own language for the first time. ¿Leerás la Biblia completa este año? — Will you read the entire Bible this year?
obedecer: Obedeceremos a Dios antes que a los hombres. — We will obey God rather than men. Un día, toda rodilla obedecerá al Rey de reyes. — One day, every knee will obey the King of kings.

Without looking, produce the simple future yo form of each irregular verb:
tener, hacer, poder, saber, querer, poner
Answers: tendré, haré, podré, sabré, querré, pondré
Exercise 2 — Ministry Sentence Production
Produce one ministry sentence in the simple future for each irregular verb. Use different pronouns.
Exercise 3 — Theological Declaration Drill
The following are theological statements that commonly appear in preaching in the simple future. Memorize and produce them:
- Nada podrá separarnos del amor de Dios. (Romans 8:38)
- Él lo hará.
- Toda rodilla se doblará.
- Dios pondrá su ley en los corazones.
- Sabremos como somos conocidos.
Exercise 4 — Regular -ER Simple Future
Conjugate creer and leer in all 5 Latin American simple future forms. Then produce a complete ministry sentence for each form.
