The Gospel in Four Truths
The simplest gospel presentation uses four truths. Here they are in Spanish, with supporting verses:
1. Dios te ama. (God loves you.)
“Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna.” — Juan 3:16
Key vocabulary:
- amó — loved (past tense of amar)
- ha dado — has given
- cree — believes
- se pierda — be lost / perish
- vida eterna — eternal life
2. Todos somos pecadores. (We are all sinners.)
“Por cuanto todos pecaron, y están destituidos de la gloria de Dios.” — Romanos 3:23
“Porque la paga del pecado es muerte, mas la dádiva de Dios es vida eterna en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro.” — Romanos 6:23
Key vocabulary:
- pecaron — sinned (preterite of pecar)
- el pecado — sin
- la paga — the wages / the payment
- la muerte — death
- la dádiva — the gift
- la vida eterna — eternal life
3. Jesús murió por nosotros. (Jesus died for us.)
“Mas Dios muestra su amor para con nosotros, en que siendo aún pecadores, Cristo murió por nosotros.” — Romanos 5:8
“Yo soy el camino, la verdad, y la vida; nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí.” — Juan 14:6
Key vocabulary:
- murió — died (preterite of morir)
- siendo pecadores — while being sinners
- el camino — the way

- sino — but / except
4. Puedes ser salvo hoy. (You can be saved today.)
“Si confesares con tu boca al Señor Jesús, y creyeres en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, serás salvo.” — Romanos 10:9
“Porque todo aquel que invocare el nombre del Señor, será salvo.” — Romanos 10:13

The Short Gospel in Your Own Words
Here is the gospel in simple, conversational Spanish — not a script, but a guide:
“Hay algo que me gustaría compartir contigo. Es la mejor noticia que conozco.
Dios te creó y te ama. Él quiere tener una relación personal contigo. Pero hay un problema: todos hemos pecado — todos hemos hecho cosas malas que nos separan de Dios. Y la consecuencia del pecado es la muerte espiritual — la separación eterna de Dios.
Pero Dios tenía un plan. Él mandó a su Hijo Jesucristo al mundo. Jesús vivió sin pecado, murió en la cruz en nuestro lugar, y resucitó al tercer día. Su muerte pagó el precio de nuestros pecados.
Ahora, si tú crees en Jesús y le pides perdón, Dios te perdonará y te dará vida eterna. No hay nada que tengas que hacer para ganarlo — es un regalo. Solo tienes que recibirlo.

(There is something I would like to share with you. It is the best news I know. God created you and loves you. He wants to have a personal relationship with you. But there is a problem: we have all sinned… But God had a plan. He sent his Son Jesus Christ to the world. Jesus lived without sin, died on the cross in our place, and rose on the third day… Now, if you believe in Jesus and ask for forgiveness, God will forgive you and give you eternal life. It is a gift. Practice the short gospel presentation three times — read it, then try it from memory, then try it naturally in your own words.
Then practice transitioning to:
- “¿Tienes alguna pregunta?” (Do you have any questions?)
- “¿Quisieras recibir a Cristo ahora?” (Would you like to receive Christ now?)
- Moving into the prayer of salvation (Lesson 33)
Cultural Note
Catholic background: The majority of people you meet in Latin America have a Catholic background — they believe in God, know the name of Jesus, and may have been baptized as infants. The gospel you share is not introducing a new God — it’s introducing a personal relationship with the God they already know of. Affirm what they know (“Usted sabe quién es Jesucristo…”) before sharing what may be new. This approach honors their faith heritage while opening the door to a personal decision.

“El evangelio es poder de Dios para salvación a todo aquel que cree.” (The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.) — Romanos 1:16
You are carrying something powerful. Speak it with confidence. El evangelio no necesita que lo defiendas — solo lo compartas. (The gospel doesn’t need you to defend it — just share it.)
