Unit 4 – Construyendo Relaciones

Building Relationships

Ministry happens in relationship, and relationship requires depth. Unit 4 expands your Spanish into the territory where real connection lives: talking about how people feel, what happened in the past, what they hope for the future, and how to care for them when life is hard.

You’ll also master the past tense (preterite and imperfect) and introduce the future — the grammatical tools that let you tell stories, understand histories, and make plans alongside the people you serve.

Unit 4 Learning Goals:

  • Express and ask about emotions
  • Handle health and medical basics
  • Tell stories and describe past events using the preterite
  • Use irregular verbs in the past
  • Describe habitual past with the imperfect
  • Ask people meaningful questions about their lives
  • Encourage and support people in hard seasons
  • Talk about the future using ir + a
  • Make plans and set appointments
  • Navigate conflict and offer apologies
  • Have deeper conversations about faith and suffering
