Matthew 28

Matthew gives a relatively brief account of Jesus's resurrection. He does say that Mary is the first to see Jesus, which is significant because women would not have been trusted as eyewitnesses - especially not for such a unique and important event.

When the chief priests found out that Jesus rose from the grave they bribed the guards to give a false report, but the guards could have been executed for both allowing themselves to be overcome by the disciples (as their report stated), and for falsifying their report. It's just a continued mess of knee-jerk reactions from them all around.

And then Jesus met His disciples in Galilee, an gave them the Great Commission.

I don't know why Matthew didn't include more details of Jesus's resurrection, but he kept his account of it short and sweet.
